The Russian Figure Skating Championships is a competition that is held in our country annually on the initiative of the Figure Skating Federation.

This is one of the most important competitions for athletes, because based on its results, the national team is formed, which represents Russia in international competitions of various levels. In single skating, no more than 18 male athletes and the same number of women are allowed to participate in the championship. In ice dancing, the limit is 15 pairs, and in pair skating it is even stricter - only 12.

Traditionally, the Russian Championship is held in winter, in December or January, and lasts about a week. It was held in cities such as Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Kazan, Saransk, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk. In 2025, the venue was the G-Drive Arena. This sports arena was opened in 2022 and is now considered one of the most technically equipped in our country.
The following have become Russian Champions at different times: Maria Butyrskaya, Adelina Sotnikova, Irina Slutskaya, Evgenia Medvedeva, Alina Zagitova, Anna Shcherbakova, Sofia Akateva, Alexandra Trusova, Adelia Petrosyan. In the men's singles competition, the following celebrated victory: Evgeni Plushenko, Maxim Kovtun, Mikhail Kolyada, Mark Kondratyuk, Evgeni Semenenko. Among the pairs that shone were: Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze, Tatyana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin, Tatyana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov.
