Figure Skating Competition Calenda
Figure skating is one of the popular sports. Soviet, and then Russian athletes have always won medals of the highest grade and taken places on the victory podium at competitions.
The season for figure skaters traditionally kicks off in September with demonstration performances. One of the most important sports events of the year is the Russia Grand Prix. It takes place over several stages in different cities. The final will be held in Krasnoyarsk in February 2025. Here the finalists from the stages in Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Magnitogorsk, and Krasnoyarsk will come together.
Popular Events
Ice shows featuring famous figure skaters have only recently appeared in our country, but have already won the hearts of both figure skating enthusiasts and those who love music, beautiful costumes and decor. Tatiana Navka, Evgenia Medvedeva, Ilya Averbukh and Evgeni Plushenko created such shows. Each season they prepare new programs.
On December 14th, Evgeni Plushenko will present the ice ballet The Nutcracker at the Minsk Arena. In it, figure skating has been combined with ballet elements, ultimately creating a unique show program for children and adults. From January 5th to 7th in Moscow, Plushenko's team will perform the show Sleeping Beauty.
Tatiana Navka will present the show Swan Lake in St. Petersburg from December 26th to January 7th, and in November there will be showings of the show The Love Story of Scheherazade.
When and Where the Most Anticipated Events Will Take Place
The Russian Figure Skating Championships is another important sports competition in the country. It will take place in Omsk from December 19th to 22nd, 2024. The tournament show Russian Challenge programs will be held in St. Petersburg from March 22nd to 23rd, 2025.
Another anticipated event in the figure skating world is the First Channel Cup. It will be held in Chelyabinsk from March 15th to 16th, 2025.
In addition, the Russian skaters' calendar includes the Russian Junior Championships. Here new stars of figure skating are born. In 2025, the tournament will be held in Saransk from February 8th to 9th.
