The Russian Grand Prix of Figure Skating series includes 5 stages and will end with the final, which will determine the strongest figure skaters of our country. The first stage started in Magnitogorsk and was held from October 25 to 28, 2024. At this stage, we saw athletes perform in all four types of programs: men's and women's singles, pair skating and pair ice dancing. The second stage was held in Kazan from November 1 to 4. Here we assessed singles and pairs. The third stage was held in Krasnoyarsk from November 8 to 11. Singles and ice dancers took to the ice. Moscow and St. Petersburg hosted the fourth and fifth stages: from November 15 to 18 and from November 22 to 25, respectively. The final is scheduled in Krasnoyarsk on the ice of the Crystal Arena from February 15 to 16, 2025. Changes have been made to the competition regulations since the 2024/2025 season. Now we will see representatives of each discipline only at some stages. However, as before, each athlete (or pair) will need to go through at least two stages. This guarantees them the opportunity to compete in the final.
The figure skating federation is responsible for distributing skaters to stages. The right to participate in the stages is granted to members of the national team, as well as those athletes who have shown the best results during the season. Thus, the World, European and Russian Champions Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Galliamov have expressed their desire to participate in the stages in Moscow and Krasnoyarsk.
All stages of the Grand Prix and, of course, the final are top-level competitions that always attract a huge number of spectators. Here they will see the most famous figure skaters, new programs that are both technically complex and rich in artistic elements, musical accompaniment and original costumes.
