Minsk-Arena

Description

Minsk Arena is a multifunctional sports and cultural center located in the city of Minsk in Belarus. This is one of the modern multifunctional venues in Europe, where international sports competitions and cultural and entertainment events can be held with great success.

Minsk Arena was created by the decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus issued at the end of 2005 on the construction of a multidisciplinary sports complex, work began in the spring of 2006.

The first velodrome was put into operation on December 30, 2008. It hosted the European Track Cycling Championship in July 2009. On December 2, 2009, the first ice skating training took place at the skating stadium. The grand opening of the Minsk Arena took place on January 30, 2010 as part of the Kontinental Hockey League All-Star Game.

Minsk Arena is the home ground for the Dinamo hockey club (Minsk), which plays in the Kontinental Hockey League. At the time of opening, it was the largest arena among all KHL teams and the fourth largest among hockey arenas in Europe.

The complex includes: a skating stadium, a velodrome, an Arena building with a capacity of more than 16,000 spectators and a multi-level parking lot.

The main task of the sports complex is not only to host the largest international competitions, but also to involve the population in sports. Athletes are trained on the territory of the complex, children are taught in sports sections, and ordinary people are trained. The arena also hosts various cultural events: concerts of domestic and foreign performers, show programs and other events.
