The organizers are doing everything to make the competition more and more exciting every year: the rules are changing, the most interesting and recognizable single skaters, pairs and dance duets are invited.
For several years, 2 teams competed in a team tournament: red and white. In 2024, for the first time, 3 teams became participants, which added intrigue. The star captains of the teams were: Anna Shcherbakova, Alina Zagitova and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva. The teams were formed in an unconventional way: they had to be chosen by fans, the media and the Figure Skating Federation. A total of 12 singles skaters (4 in each team) and 6 sports and dance pairs (two each) participated.
As a result, Ksenia Gushchina, Alexander Samarin and Sofia Leontyeva with Daniil Gorelkin, Maria Agaeva, Matvey Vetlugin, Sofia Shevchenko and Andrey Yezhlov and other famous skaters took to the ice.
A team tournament is always a confrontation, and in 2024 the team of Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova celebrated its victory. The winners received 10 million rubles. The team of the brilliant Elizaveta Tuktamysheva took second place, and Alina Zagitova’s team took third place. The gap between 2nd and 3rd places was minimal - only 1 point.
What rules the 2025 tournament will be held under is still unknown, but there is no doubt that it will be interesting, as in all previous years.
