Nizhny Novgorod will host the opening leg of the 2026/2027 Russian Grand Prix of Figure Skating. From October 16 to 19, the Nagorny Arena will host the Ice Rhapsody tournament, which will open a series of five legs of the national Grand Prix. For athletes, this is their first chance to showcase their ambitions for the new season, and for spectators, it will be an opportunity to see the best performances by Russian figure skaters. Fans will be able to appreciate the original productions, updated choreography, and the skaters' level of technical readiness after the off-season. The results of the tournament will largely determine the direction of the subsequent battle for a spot in the Grand Prix Final.

The competition program will include all four figure skating disciplines. Men's and women's singles, pairs, and ice dancing will take to the ice. Each performance will combine complex technical elements with expressive musical interpretation, transforming the sports program into a full-fledged ice performance.

Following the tournament in Nizhny Novgorod, the series will continue with stages in St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, and Omsk. However, it is "Rhapsody of Ice" that will be the first landmark of the season, setting the initial balance of power and offering fans vibrant emotions, unexpected discoveries, and intense athletic competition.
