Description
Initially, on the site of the current Vyborg Palace of Culture there was an unfinished building erected by the Vyborg Cooperative Society between 1913 and 1916. Later, for the tenth anniversary of the October Revolution, it was transformed into a symbol of the cultural upsurge of the working-class district of Vyborgskaya Storona. In 1937, the building came under the jurisdiction of the military-metal industry trade union, and in the 1970s, significant reconstruction was carried out.
Today, the Vyborg Palace of Culture is a modern multifunctional complex capable of accommodating up to two thousand guests. It hosts vibrant concerts by pop singers and classical musicians, theatrical performances by famous Russian and European troupes, as well as private theater performances. The area of the complex is 4758 square meters, a significant part of which is occupied by the Vyborg Garden - an open cultural recreation area.
Currently, the Vyborg Palace of Culture houses:
- Library
- Fashion Theater
- Fusion Variety and Vocal Studio
- Karusel Children's Dance Ensemble
- People's Theater for Young Spectators
- Photography Lovers Club, founded in 1953, which has produced many famous photographers and photojournalists.
The schedule of events and posters are available on our website, where you can also buy tickets.
