The composition of the Russian national team for the new season has been announced!
The FFKR, given the lack of international competition, used the results of the Russian Championships 2023 to determine the best skaters in each discipline. With the exception of the dances, where the couple who missed the championship were replaced by the winners of the Russian Cup final, the list of the main team consists of the top six athletes.
It is interesting to note that not a single skater from the Olympic roster who interrupted his career in whole or in part last season got a place in the national team. Even Alexandra Trusova, who performed well at two stages of the Russian Cup (taking 3rd and 2nd places), did not manage to get into the team, although she was included in the reserve list.
The list of coaches and specialists also arouses curiosity - it contains 215 names, which is 10 more than the number of athletes. It is important to note that leading coaches such as Eteri Tutberidze, Evgeni Plushenko, Alexei Mishin, Svetlana Sokolovskaya and Tamara Moskvina were registered in the Sports Training Center (STC).
We are looking forward to the start of the new season and offer you to get acquainted with the full composition of the Russian national team for the 2022/23 season:
