Figure skating: Alexei Mishin is an innovator whose ideas change the world!
Alexey Mishin, having studied figure skating from all sides, wrote several popular science books and a dissertation on the methodology of teaching multi-turn jumps. His research and training "gadgets" have made significant changes in the idea of movement on the ice. At the beginning they seemed strange, but now they are an integral part of figure skating.
After a successful career in single skating and pair competition with Tamara Moskvina, Mishin ended his competitive career and decided to pursue science. His engineering background proved useful in coaching.
In 1969, Mishin foresaw the future of figure skating jumps and began working on increasing their difficulty. He became a mentor to Evgeni Plushenko, who made a great comeback twice after a break and a back injury using Mishin's methods.
Mishin's technique inspires admiration and respect in figure skating. He not only experiments with technique, but also creates original productions for his students. They skate to a variety of music, including classical, songs and even K-Pop, which gives figure skating a new energy.
In the 2023/2024 season, Mishin's group will be strong and competitive, competing in both men's and women's skating. Keep an eye on this talented team and enjoy their impressive performances on the ice.
Alexey Mishin continues to make an important contribution to the development of figure skating and inspire a new generation of athletes with his innovative ideas. His methods of exploration and training continue to redefine what is possible on the ice and will forever be a part of figure skating history.
