"Assol", "Sleeping Beauty", and "The Nutcracker": a brief overview of the main ice shows of this year
Figure skating tickets are a unique chance to attend events in this sport, from competitions to ice shows, which take place almost every day on the ice of the main venues of our country.
On July 27 and 29, the Ice Palace of St. Petersburg will host the rock musical on ice "Assol". The plot is based on the famous work of the writer Alexander Green "Scarlet Sails", and in the main roles you will find Alina Zagitova (Assol), and as Gray, the audience will see Dmitry Solovyov. The story is adapted for the ice stage, where many fantasy elements appeared, and with the help of modern multimedia technologies a special atmosphere was created. Well, its plot is well known to everyone - the beautiful Assol is waiting on the shore for her captain on a ship equipped with legendary scarlet sails.
On November 2 and 3 Evgeni Plushenko's ice show "Sleeping Beauty" will take place in the Ice Palace of St. Petersburg. The plot is based on the classic libretto, in which the action takes place in the land of fairy tales by Charles Perrault. The main role is played by the Russian figure skater and figure skating coach, two-time Olympic champion, Evgeni Plushenko, who will try on the image of the king, the father of the main character. The role of Prince and Princess Aurora is played by Alexander Plushenko, Evgeni's son, and Elena Kostyleva. Alexandra Trusova will appear in the image of the charming sorceress fairy Carabosse. Also taking part in the show will be Vladislav Dikidzhi, Veronika Zhilina, Yaroslav Cherepennikov, Maryana Shakirova, and other stars of the Angels of Plushenko Academy. The show involves a synthesis of several types of art: figure skating, ballet, and aerial gymnastics. For this carefully thought-out production, they used more than two hundred and fifty new costumes specially made for the show, antique furniture and interior items to decorate the interior rooms of the castle, and unique circus acts.
On November 15 and 16, on the ice of the VTB Arena, you will be able to see the ice show "The Nutcracker on Ice with a Symphony Orchestra", directed by Dmitry Lapshin. This is a fresh interpretation of a classic story, transferred for the first time to the format of an ice show, and in addition to the performances of figure skaters, the symphony orchestra will play the enchanting music of the great composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in an online format.
