Main Figure Skating Events in March

After our athletes were banned from participating in international competitions, domestic tournaments, as well as all sorts of spectacular ice shows from leading coaches and choreographers, acquired special significance and status. 

March 7 and 8 – Tatyana Navka's ice show "The Scarlet Flower" in Moscow, at Navka Arena. The production is based on the fairy tale by Russian writer S. T. Aksakov, which tells the story of three merchant daughters, the youngest of whom asked for a scarlet flower, which was guarded by a monster. Both adults and children will enjoy the theatrical performance on ice. The main roles will be played by the multiple champion of Russia, Europe and the world, Olympic champion Tatyana Navka and five-time US champion, two-time winner of the Four Continents Championships Petr Chernyshev. For two whole hours, real magic will unfold before the eyes of the audience, in which other famous titled Russian figure skaters will also participate.

On March 15 and 16 in Kaluga, in the Central Sports Palace, the Junior Final of the Russian Grand Prix will be held. The Russian Grand Prix series (formerly the National Cup) for juniors is held in the same stages as for adults, but the final will take place a month later, however, the performances of the beginning stars of figure skating are just as exciting a spectacle as those of the titled athletes. The tournament will feature a dozen young men and women who showed the best results in the autumn series of the Russian Grand Prix, as well as eight sports pairs and ten bright dance duets, whose numbers will be a real gift for fans of this sport.

March 22 at the CSKA Arena, the show "Avatar. The Element of Ice". This grand event in the circus genre amazes with its beauty and mastery of performing the most difficult tricks on ice, which will turn into real living magic before the eyes of the audience. The production is inspired by the film "Avatar", and the exciting production will feature artists from the Moscow Circus on Ice, masters of sports, winners of Russian figure skating competitions, as well as the Russian theater on ice "Color-Ice".
